Biography:

English beat group, The Fortunes formed 1963 with the original line-up of Rod Allen (vocals and bass), Glen Dale (guitar), Shel Macare (vocals and guitar), Barry Pritchard (guitar), Andy Brown (drums) and David Carr (keyboard). They first came to fame when the 60s was in full 'swing' with their hit "You've Got Your Troubles" making the top 10 the UK and US. In 1966 the band's manager, Reginald Calvert, was shot dead in a dispute over pirate radio stations.

The band enjoyed a string of successive hits including "Here it Comes Again", "Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again", "Freedom Come, Freedom Go" and "Storm in a Teacup".  They were also the voice of Coca Cola in the US recording "It's the Real Thing" for an American advertisement which can still be heard today. In 2008 the band regrouped with a new line up and released the album "Play On".
