His time in the band saw Ringo write the songs ‘Don’t Pass Me By’ and ‘Octopus’s Garden’ and also lead sing some of The Beatles’ hits such as ‘Yellow Submarine’ and ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’.
Through great success and world wide fame, Ringo however was rarely regarded as a great drummer, and he was the first to acknowledge his limited technical musical ability. Even with this criticism, Ringo recorded his first two albums in the year The Beatles broke up in 1970. The albums included four hits which were ‘It Don’t Come Easy’, ‘Back Off Boogaloo’, ‘Photograph’ and 'You’re Sixteen’. After this, Ringo released two more albums with Atlantic records but they were a not very successful. Next, he signed for Portait records but his album as popular as the previous two.

Ringo created his own record company in 1975 called Ring O’Records, releasing four records. But he never got to the high standard of music that he enjoyed with The Beatles.
The Beatles were inducted in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 however all of The Beatles members have been inducted individually since, apart from Ringo Starr.
