Never Mind The Rain Its The Buzzcocks

Image:
Not sure what I was expecting but certainly not so many folk who had dressed up for the occasion. Do they have wardrobes with vintage clothes that hang there just waiting for a chance to be aired in public, or have they gone through their parents cupboards and found some cool stuff, long forgotten that should have gone to the closet in the sky many many years ago? Whatever the answer there were loads of them and good they looked too. But we were there for business...well sort of...we had been invited by The Buzzcocks to see their set and interview them afterwards ( they're old mates of Bob, my mate ). We were pretty unlucky as the man in the sky decided that this was the moment in the afternoon to let us have it, and he sure did, just as the first chords rang out. Fortunately the back stage passes got us under some cover, so we could hear the songs and have a beer in the dry. The boys came off after a storming set, in stormy weather, to the cheers of a pretty big and enthusiastic crowd despite the rain. You never know with an interview how it's gonna go but working on the basis that these were mates hoped for something special, and boy did we get it. Steve Diggle and Pete Shelley are notorious for their off stage 'distance' from each other and have never given a joint interview, but hey thats what we got. The most unique video interview that one could hope for, from two of punks surviving icons. A little bit of editing is all thats needed and we'll be sharing this with the World. It's a tough life but someones got to do it!!
