Image:

A week in to the World Cup and football fever has spread across the nation. With that in mind, we are pleased to bring you part 2 of the best sports songs countdown to get you hyped overthe competition. Here is the top ten.

10. Rock And Roll (The Hey Song) - Gary Glitter (Ice Hockey, American Football)

The catchy beat of this song will get you pumped for any sporting event. Mostly used at Ice Hockey and American Football matches, fans would chant this Glam Rock tune off the terraces.

9. Dreadlock Holiday-10cc (Cricket)

The bands third and final number one in the late 70s is said to be a true event which happened to The Moody Blues. The song is now associated with skysports' coverage of cricket as they change the chorus to 'We Don't Like Cricket, We Love It'.

8. The Power- Snap (Darts)

The entrance song for the best ever dart player of all time, Phil 'The Power' Taylor. With 68 major televised tournaments including 15 world titles and counting, its safe to say, Phil does have The Power.

7. The Game- Motorhead (Wrestleing)

The wrestling world would not be like it is without Triple H and this song. This long and intimidating anthem has been an integral part of The Game's performances s a wrestler. Motorhead have performed this song live on several occasions at the biggest wrestling events.

6. The Chain- Fleetwood Mac (F1)

This Fleetwood Mac track was taken by the BBC in 1978 for the theme song of their Formula One coverage. Only the last minute is used in the coverage but it seems a popular choice of music as the BBC got the rights back off ITV which was a 12 year gap, they continued with the same bass line that viewers were used to before the shift.

5. Eye Of The Tiger- Survivor (Boxing)

The montage song in Rocky 3, enough said.

4. Surfin' The USA - Beach Boys (Surfing)

As the title suggests, The Beach Boys classic is about surfing. Brian Wilson's girlfriend's brother at the time was a keen surfer and so he thought to himself he would write lyrics on every surf spot in the USA. The rest is history. As the title suggests, The Beach Boys classic is about surfing. 3. We Are The Champions- Queen (Football)

Every football season for the English Premier League, this song is played to mark the new champions. Hopefully we will hear this song on the 11th of July.

2. Three Lions - Badiel, Skinner And The Lighting Seeds (Football)

The Euro 96 song for England became a cult classic that it was re-released for the world cup in 98 but just misses out on the top for our countdown. Definitely the best England song in the last 15 years with Ant & Dec and recently Dizzee Rascal and James Corden having a go, they didn’t have a catchy melody and an easy chorus for the fans to shout, ‘It’s Coming Home’.

1. World In Motion- New Order (Football)

This really had to be top, mainly due to John Barnes and his hidden talent. The great New Order teamed up with Comedian and father to Lily, Keith Allen to create the anthem for England's trip to Mexico in 1986. Apart from the Hand of 'God' and probably the best goal ever scored, this is the most memorable thing for England fans during the tournament and has since been a bench mark for all future England football songs. 'We're singing for England Eng-Ger-Land' will be heard from rooftops from now till the world cup final (fingers crossed).
